Owl On His Own

This is a story about an owl called Geco.

Geco was a young little owl that lived together with his mother, a jaguar named Tansaa. They lived together in the outskirts of a little town in the Amazon rainforest and had a pretty normal and uneventful life. Although, something just wouldn't stop troubling the owl's mind.

Geco was... different, unique. He was an owl that needed special care, which was one the main reasons why his mother was so overprotective. There was no place nor time that she wasn't around him to protect him from the dangers of the world. His mother needed to be there for him at all costs. And Geco hated that!

The little owl convinced himself that his own mother and everyone else only liked him because they took pity on him. Everyone liked him because of what he was, and not who he was. And for the longest time, he thought about doing something that would prove everyone wrong, but what could the owl do to convince them otherwise? Was there anything he could do to prove his capabilities?

On a very eventful day, Tansaa woke up very sick. She had the flu and was so feverish she couldn't even get out of bed. As Tansaa was about to sleep, she giggly told Geco how much she wished she could just get up and buy something from the drugstore to treat her sickness. That gave Geco an idea. Or rather an opportunity. 

After his mother slept, Geco quickly grabbed some money from her purse and went out alone into the forest in search for a drugstore. His goal was to simply buy some flu medicine and get back home in one piece. In his mind, this was the best idea ever, because that way he could finally prove everyone that someone like is just as capable of doing mundane tasks, even under his unique conditions.

Will Geco be able to achieve his goals? Will the owl find a drugstore and buy some medicine for his sick mother? And will he find his way back home after that?

About this game.

Inspired by Le Petit Prince and Yume Nikki, Owl On His Own is an adventure walking-simulator game where you play as an owl on his life quest to find a drugstore, buy some flu medicine for his sick mother, and come back home by himself. Find paths, talk to random foes, read many signs and get lost and confused as you travel around the Amazon forest in this 3-4 hours game made using RPG maker VX Ace.
